Someone on another forum had found the exact procedure on the VW website.Īt that point, the repair foreman told me that, "we aren't allowed to change the long-coding." It could, he said, "affect other components." I did a quick Google search on my phone and showed them that, in fact, it could be done. Then my service rep told me "it was not legal." The repair foreman first told my service rep that, "it wasn't in the manual" therefore it couldn't be done. But I was given various reason within the space of thirty minutes regarding why they wouldn't change the beep upon locking to disable and save my neighbors the nuisance every day. I paid them to change the oil/filter on our 2010 Jetta TDI and rotate the tires.
